Electrostatic control solutions for industrial applications

J Scray and batching lines

The issue:

Fabrics are usually made of blends of cotton / linen fibres (usually hygroscopic and capable of relaxing a static charge) and wool / silk / man made fibres (usually highly resistive and capable of holding a static charge). The higher the proportion of the latter in the fabric, the greater the incidence of static electric problems in fabric processing.

This phenomenon can cause difficulty in controlling the substrate being processed. It can also cause problems with delivering and handling in J scray and batching lines. Further, static electric charges can transfer by induction and thus electric charges can accumulate on to a person, leading to a discomforting shock when she or he touches a grounded object.

The remedy:

Position the Valstat static eliminating bars, as shown below. The bars function by directing a balanced flow of positive and negative ions toward the charged surface, thereby neutralising the charges. The result is enhanced throughput, and good operator safety.

AxisValence offers a range of off-the-shelf and customised electrostatic control products like static eliminators, charging systems, static charge monitoring systems, for industrial applications. Contact us to know more.
