Surface rewinders

The issue:

On a surface rewinder, the core initially rests on the drive rollers which are used to wind the substrate. Different materials like plastic film, paper, or non-woven fabric are wound on the rewinder. During the winding process, significant static charges are produced due to friction as well as contact and separation.

The remedy:

Place the Valstat static eliminating bar as shown in the sketch below. This bar creates a harmonised stream of positive and negative ions aimed at the charged surface (substrate), effectively neutralising the charges. The Valstat VR90 DC bar is effective within an operational range up to 600 mm and for line speeds reaching 1000 m/min.
