The issue:
In PET stretch blow moulding machines, preforms undergo pre-heating, stretching, and initial blowing, to shape the bottle. Subsequently, high-pressure air is applied to complete the bottle formation. Once the bottle is formed and in contact with the cooled cavity surface, the blow mould opens, and the stretch rod retracts, to eject the bottle.
During these stages, elevated static charges are generated on the bottles, primarily attributed to temperature fluctuations and contact/separation events. As the bottles are deposited into the collection bin later in the process, the cumulative static charge levels remain high, leading to discomforting shocks for operators, as well as attracting dust, and other related issues.
The remedy:
Merely using regular compressed air proves insufficient to blow-off dust, due to elevated static charges. The Valstat IN10G ionising air nozzle converts the compressed air into ionised air by encompassing millions of positive and negative ions. This serves as an effective solution for both cleaning and neutralising static charges on PET bottles.
